Doesn’t the buzzing of flies prove to be extremely irritating and annoying? Not only do they create disturbance but also spread germs in the house. Well before you call a professional pest control or other individual to help you get rid of houseflies, you must try to use homemade or natural methods. You will be surprised to know that there are many fabulous natural was to get rid of flies at home and these methods do not involve usage of any chemicals.  The following are some of the most effective of these ways.

1. Make your own homemade flies repellent

There are various types of repellents you can make to keep flies away and one of them involves usage of lavender oil. For this you need 1 cup of lavender oil, a tin can with lid and a cloth. All you need to do is to dip cloth into lavender oil and keep it in the tin with lid covered for 24 hours. Open the lid and you have your own natural flies repellent ready. Some other oils you can use for this purpose include lemongrass, peppermint and eucalyptus etc.

2. Use the lemon and cloves method

This is one of the most effective natural methods to get rid of flies at home.  For this you need to cut 2 lemon in halves and then poke 4-5 cloves in each half in such a way that the bud remains outside the lemon. Arrange these lemons on a plate and place it at a central point so that all the flies in the house smell the aroma and are chased away.

3. Using plastic bags to keep the flies away

Another great way to get rid of flies at home is to fill a plastic bag with water and place it at the entrance of doors and windows from where flies can come inside the house. Seeing the plastic water bag, the flies won’t approach the door or the window and you can get a natural fly repellent of your own. The bag must be filled half the bag and it must be secured properly so that water doesn’t spill.

4. Make a fly trap of your own

There are many fly trap related products available in the market but you can also make one at home. For this all you need is a glass jar with a lid and some apple cider vinegar. Take the jar and fill it with apple cider vinegar. Make some holes in the lid so that the aroma can spread and the flies try to enter the jar.  It is better to heat the apple cider vinegar before putting it in the glass jar as this releases all the aromas.
