How to clean oil out of an oven

It is quite common for oil and grease to fall off in an oven during the cooking, baking or grilling process. The heat melts the oil and it tends to drop on the surface of ovens and microwave ovens. Step 1

The first thing you need to do is to turn the oven off from the main power supply and wait for it to cool down completely.

Once you are done with cleaning the big waste pieces and particles, the next thing you need to do to clean oil out of an oven is to spray some degreaser on all the oil marks and stains but only after reading the instructions.  Wait for some time till the solution dissolves in the oil marks completely and then loosen the oil stains by using a plastic scouring ball.  Take a paper cloth and wipe off the residual spray as well as the liberated stains.

Step 5

Now take a mild dish detergent and apply a few of its drops on a paper towel. Use this towel to clean the bottom surface of the oven and also to wash off the degreaser from it.  Now take a clean wet paper towel to further clean the detergent completely.  Make sure you leave the oven door open for about half an hour so that all the moisture evaporates along with the odor.

Step 6

If your oven is a self cleaning one then run the self cleaning cycle if you still observe any oil stains or marks.  Once this is done, take a paper towel to remove any ash or particles of the oil that may still be left behind.
