If you have built a new house then you might need to set up your kitchen as well. One of the most important thing that needs to be done to complete a kitchen is the installation of the sink. If you are contacting a professional for kitchen sink installation, then there are a few things that you need to keep in mind. You must be careful about the proper installation so that you face no problems in the future. Moreover you must be present on the spot when the sink is being installed. The following are some of the things to keep in mind during kitchen sink installation.

1. Proper placement for kitchen sink installation

The first thing to keep in mind during the installation of your sink is its proper placement.  For this locate the opening of it first and then position it in such a way that it falls in the centre of the cabinets and possibly also the countertop. The countertop seam measurement in this case should be atleast 1 ½ inches.

2. Proper handling of the sink

When you buy the sink, it comes in a certain packing. Make sure you dont completely open the packing till it is installed. Once you hand over the sink to the professional, make sure he handles it properly and doesn’t bump it to any of the kitchen parts. Remove the packing carefully and only then let the serviceman install the sink in the space provided.

3. Install the faucets beforehand

It is better to install all the faucets such as the knobs, tap and other accessories before you install the sink. This will not only save you time but also a lot of your workload will also be reduced.  Also this will make it easier for you to see what you exactly are doing before the sink gets installed.

4. Have the sealant in place

It is important to have the sealant in place before the sink is put on top of the countertop in its position. Be careful when the sealant is being installed and make sure the professional applies it on the lip of the sink and also on the sink as well.  if you apply the sealant properly, then the sink will be tighter.

5. Place c-clamps once the sink is positioned

Another tip to remember when getting a sink installed is to put a few c-clamps on it after you have positioned it in the countertop space. This will help it remain in its position even after the sealant dries off. The clamps will also prevent the circumstance of accidently moving the sink from its position.

It is always better to call a certified and experienced sink installer so as to get the best results. Remember to search online or get references and only then hire a professional after proper comparison.
