I broke the turntable of my SMEG microwave – I got a replacement ‘universal’ one for £6 instead of a SMEG one for £35. But the plastic coupling does not reach the pips under the new turntable. If I take the coupling out, can I insert a bit of plastic just enough to raise it to meet the pips, but still leaving enough to engage with the motor underneath ?
