Best vacuum cleaner for home

Vacuum cleaners have made home cleaning task convenient and quicker. Once you use a vacuum, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it. Buying the best vacuum cleaner for your home can be a difficult task specially when you are doing it for the first time. With so many types of vacuum cleaner brands and models to choose from, finding one vacuum that suits your requirements can be quite intimidating.

The type of vacuum cleaner you will need to purchase will vary according to its intended purpose. If you are looking for a vacuum to handle high  target carpet areas inside of your home, there is a vacuum for that. If you want to clean bare floors, there is a vacuum for that.

Broadly, there are 4 types of vacuum cleaner categories:

Upright Vacuum Cleaner

An upright vacuum clear is best suited for homes that have large carpet areas. An upright vac is very effective in cleaning thick carpets. It can be used throughout the home for fast and effective cleaning of carpets. It can also be used to clean bare floor but it is best suited to clean carpet areas. It has longer lead and hose length and is coupled with a big dust capacity and suction head. But the downside of upright vacuum cleaner is its weight. It is heavier than other types of vacuum cleaner. Due to its weight it becomes hard to push and lift it. It is not very helpful in cleaning difficult areas like under furniture and compact areas. It is also expensive.(Picture Source: www.appliancist.com)

Canister Vacuum Cleaner

A canister vacuum cleaner consists of a canister (cylindrical container) and a long wand or hose attached to it. This vacuum cleaner is generally lighter and smaller than an upright vacuum cleaner. The wand of this cleaner is quite flexible which makes cleaning in awkward areas, such as around and under furniture easy. It can be used on any type of carpeting, but it also has the capability of taking care of your bare floors with ease as well. The downside of canister cleaner is that it has smaller dust capacity and shorter lead and hose length than the upright vac. Canister vacs are also expensive.

Canister vacuum cleaners suit well to Indian Household. In Indian homes the bare floor area is a lot larger then the carpet area. Canister vacs work really well on bare floor as well as on carpets. (Picture Source: www.crateandbarrel.com)

Handheld Vacuum Cleaner

Handheld vacuum cleaners are the ones that you hold in your hand to clean. They are very light weight which makes them handy and easy to use. They are commonly used for cleaning inside cars and compact areas of your home. There are both corded and cordless handheld vacuum cleaners. Hand held vacs are very useful for small and occasional spills and at places where using a standard vacuum cleaner is less convenient. Handheld vacs are not expensive and are affordable. The downside of these handy vacs is that they have less suction power as compared to upright or canister vacuums. (Picture Source: www.bissell.com)

Stick-like Vacuum Cleaner

Stick vacuum cleaners are lightweight, but usually have less amount of suction power when compared to upright and canister vacs. The name stick comes from its appearance as a long stick. These cleaners are best used to clean bare floors and light carpeting areas. Stick vacs are not very expensive and are affordable. Stick vacuum cleaners are good choice for Indian households as they work really well on bare floor. (Picture Source: www.dealsandyou.com)
